The Role Of The Guru

guru22

"Ajnana-Timirandhasya Jnananjana-Salakaya; Chakshurunmilitam Yena Tasmai Sri Gurave Namah."

Prostrations to that Guru who, by the collyrium-rod of Knowledge, opens the eyes of those who are rendered blind by the darkness of ignorance (Guru Gita).

The Guru is God Himself manifesting in a personal form to guide the aspirant. Grace of God takes the form of Guru. To see the Guru is to see God. The Guru is united with God. He inspires devotion in others. His presence purifies all.

The Guru is verily a link between the individual and the Immortal. He is a being who has raised himself from this into That, and thus has a free and unhampered access to both the realms. He stands, as it were, upon the threshold of immortality; and bending down, he raises the struggling individuals with his one hand, and with the other lifts them up into the empyrean of everlasting joy and infinite Truth-Consciousness.

The Satguru

Mere study of books cannot make one a Guru. One who has studied the Vedas and who has direct knowledge of Atman through Anubhava can only be enrolled as a Guru. A Jivanmukta or a liberated sage is the real Guru or spiritual preceptor. He is the Satguru. He is identical with Brahman or the Supreme Self. He is a Knower of Brahman.

Possession of Siddhis is not the test to declare the greatness of a sage or to prove he has attained Self-realisation. Satgurus do not exhibit any miracles or Siddhis. Sometimes they may exhibit them in order to convince the aspirants of the existence of super physical things, give them encouragement, and instill faith in their hearts. A Satguru is endowed with countless Siddhis. He possesses all divine Aisvarya, all the wealth of the Lord.

The Satguru is Brahman Himself. He is an ocean of bliss, knowledge and mercy. He is the captain of your soul. He is the fountain of joy. He removes all your troubles, sorrows and obstacles. He shows you the right divine path. He tears your veil of ignorance. He makes you immortal and divine. He transmutes your lower, diabolical nature. He gives you the rope of knowledge and saves you when you are drowning in this ocean of Samsara. Do not consider him to be only a man. If you take him as a man, you are a beast. Worship your Guru and bow to him with reverence.

Guru is God. A word from him is a word from God. He need not teach anything. Even his presence or company is elevating, inspiring and stirring. The very company itself is self-illumination. Living in his company is spiritual education. Read `Sri Granth Sahib'. You will come to know the greatness of Guru.

Man can learn only from a man, and hence God teaches through a human body. In your Guru, you have your human ideal of perfection. He is the pattern from which you wish to mould yourself. Your mind will readily be convinced that such a great soul is fit to be worshipped and revered.

Guru is the Moksha-Dvara. He is the gateway to the transcendental Truth-Consciousness. But, it is the aspirant that has to enter through it. The Guru is a help, but the actual task of practical Sadhana falls on the aspirant himself.

The Fear of Losing the Sense of Self

loss_of_selfThis is the last barrier that is faced.... the last great fear to be transcended, that feeling of utter extinction that happens when you reach the veil between "knowing" and entering into "unknowing" or "Self" minus the ego ideation of body, mind etc..... While it is true that you know that something will not survive .... and this is not unfounded... for in Truth there is no "thing" to survive.... the thing was simply the ever moving mind of concepts and the body of illusory experience... these are shattered in that instant of utter release... and what remains and what has always been is absolute Abstract Intelligence.... Peace.... Bliss.... Awareness minus the judgments and singular distinctions.... Life is known as it has always been simply extending from that Eternal Purity of Consciousness which moves and creates Energy and Form in patterns which is called Existence and Creation... and the "Self" minus identification resides within and through ALL of existence.... and yet is separate as it is ever unmoved or touched by any of the happenings within the created realm.....

It is great freedom when the ego identification has ended... when you are not... when you are not then you are also ALL.... yet moving within the Pregnant Void there is simply a seeing manifestation as it rises from that silence and void into seeming patterns which rise and fall due to the conscious movement which is created by the mass mind... the grand illusive play called maya...... but being at that point beyond the illusions you see it as just the ever expanding dream called life.....

There is no longer death nor life... for you have ever been that which is beyond both these seeming aspects.... when the last barrier is traversed then the ideation of life and death receede... into the oblivion of illusion that was created by the identification with body and form.... You are ever free.... Being and Non-Being.... Beyond both.... Totally the ever present Paradox.... and it matters not whether seeming in form or beyond form - for form is simply an identification with mind, body, and divisionary concept..... Therefore for that One that has transcended form it is no longer a binding image .... others see it but for you it is as the finger is an appendage of the hand... the hand is not aware of the finger - it simply is.... and so you move through existence... seeming to be in form... yet unconnected to it... not bound by it's seeming parameters....

To transcend the last barrier takes letting go.... submitting all to the universe... to the Self within.... while Self is a mis-nomer for there is no feeling of personality attached to it..... yet it is the Foundation or the Source which makes all experience possible.... therefore at core it is termed the Self.... it is more apt to say the great 0... for that is all that remains.... The Emptiness which contains ALL of life... For life is ever the Great Eternal Moment ever-changing patterns called mind and the unchanging Constant called God or Source or Consciousness Itself.... That; beyond questions and answers is the Great Peace and Bliss... It simply remains aware of the great show... and is at rest within the space of Expansion where within and without no longer carry meaning for they are of mind and mayas play.... You are ever the play and the player and yet are unconcerned with either.... Once again the Paradox which IS.... There is simply that ISNESS that remains.... seeing yet not seeing.... Hearing yet not hearing... Being yet not Being.... ONE yet 0... in eternal harmony ....

Have faith and release the hold of ego self and the last barrier will be slipped beyond... the last illusions will shatter... and what remains is what has always been the Constant beyond the illusive ideation of the transient.....

Love and Blessings g.

40 Questions

tree_of_life

G: Came across this set of questions that someone asked quite sometime ago -
thought they might be of interest here.
Enjoy -
Love and Blessings Sat*Chit*Anand Shanti-Shanti-Shanti OM

1. Why does the individual desire knowledge of reality?
G: Because they feel incomplete --- something is missing ---- there has come a feeling of separation and attachment to the transient mundane existence .....true knowledge has been replaced with relational knowledge which has no substance nor center.

2. How does the individual not gratify the bodily senses?
G: It isn't about Not gratifying them but rather about gratifying them in a higher manner.

3. How do you practice the real meaning of life?
G: By finding out what the Real meaning of life is ---- through entering a path and internal search.

4. What is God's purpose for the soul?
G: To Live Life and Experience the Bounty in the Fragrance of Gods garden.

5. If the mind desires temporary opulence how does the individual diminish that desire?
G: By developing Vairagya ..... this takes place as one enters into Mantra - and Authorised practices which begin to loosen the attachments to externals.

6. What is the way God prescribes the soul to work for God?
G: By doing Seva and Karma Yoga to Guru - Family - Mankind .... As Christ so aptly stated what you have done to the least of these you have done to me. When i was hungry you gave me food ---- when i was thirsty you gave me drink, etc.

7. What are the instructions a human being must implement from the esoteric teaching?
G: All of them ..... Instructions are to get a man to a point where the Esoteric Truths are discovered and Known by ones own experience.

8. What is Absolute consciousness?
G: Pristine - Pure - Infinite Potential - it is beyond and before manifested world ... it is ONE ..... Knowing of itself alone ..... simply IS ...... before personalization.

9. What does Absolute consciousness contain?
G: The fullness of it's own divine Being ....... pre world ---- always separate and yet runs like a thread through all of existence.

10. What are the contents of Absolute existence, perfect knowledge and eternal bliss?
G: This is when it is Conscious of it's Self -----

Desire - Peace & The Dream

"There is nothing that is hard... this is a concept of mind.. the experience and exploration is also all mind... you must eventually go beyond mind... for within experience you are separated from "That Which Is"... you are still ego.. identified with the body.. Just see without judging.. and hear without discrimination as to what you hear... drop the concepts and conditionings.. When you can just Be, and you become Silence itself then you will not have experiences... You will Be "That Which Is".. No separation and no distinction from creation... and yet you will not be for the pardox of Being and Non-Being are transcended and the manifest and un- manifest become Emptiness Itself... Non-dual... Non-Dual...." Guru G

DESIRE - PEACE & THE DREAM

dream

This is all to get you to the point where you are ever glad only within the heart of your Self... only you can find the ulitimate joy and peace within your self.. no one else can hand you happiness... when happiness and peace are seen to come from someone or something else that peace and joy are short-lived as no one or nothing can live up to all your expectations and desires.. this is why the desires should be dropped... if there are no desires then you seek nothing... are looking for nothing... and content with whatever comes....

You are complete within your self... the universe is contained within...And true joy and Bliss come when you know who you are... or consequently what you are not...

Your essence is more infinite than you can imagine... impervious to desire, fear, pain, change, ups and downs.... simply it is Complete Wholeness and what life springs from.... It can never be destroyed nor altered... and concurrently it is also the same essence that is contained within ALL life... so you are ever alone and never alone all at once.... all that exists is the one essence... but in the maya realm you view it as separate entities... but they are all only comprised of the One Essence.... You are the one and the many... the paradox called life..... in maya all have joy and sorrow... what moves the so-called personality may be different due to the conditionings of life... but the basics are all the same... and beyond the form in the formless Constant there is no division what-so-ever... there only the Essence in its Purity exists....

This is where you are always resting.... one day your eyes will be opened metaphorically speaking... the day you see that the eyes are a temporary phenomenon that come and go with body form... but you will find you are also not that form... you are beyond.... ever beyond.... and the maya realm has covered you with a vehicle called body to experience desire, love, pain, joy, sorrow... etc... but in the end it is all only a movie of the moment... the play of the day.... and you find that you were an actor on the "stage of life".... you are not any of the parts you play.... you are not even form... you are unbound Bliss and Awareness... everpresent.... having always existed and will continue on in ever the same essence and yet in other maya realms of experience.... maya realms of empty experience with as much concrete nature as you yourself give it.... just like a dream.... just like a dream.....

I Am All In All

sun-stand-still
All my words and Wisdom is and always has been available for your taking.
Why do you continue to look at outward sources when the Eternal Source
stands within your Being?
There is no other than "I" I Am the eternal oneness of creation,
manifestation, the on going everflowing Constant...
Why do you search?
There is no search for "I" AM ALL in ALL
You are made blind by the ignorance of maya
and see not the Reality, but only the dream of Maya.
Wake up and see the "Self".
See your Self and rest in the knowledge that We are One...
All that appears separate is in Reality One...
There is no division except within the mind, this faulty organ which does
not exist..
Drop this body/mind conditioning and see it for what it is...
These are illusions of truth for "Truth" stands on its own alone...
"I" exist alone within this universe.
So Why do you search when nothing else exists?
Realize this Truth, the you the ego, the separation does not exist.
it is all illusion for I alone AM...
I am the Reality, I Am Reality and none else exists..
For Alone I AM ALL in ALL.
I AM the Supreme Self..
The Supreme Self Alone exists within these various forms known as
existance...
Rest in this knowledge and just "BE" for there is only "SELF" alone....

Hare Om Tat Sat
Sat-chit-anand
Amen

3 Types of Jnani

whitelotus

This is, once again, from the TRIPURA RAHASYA

This first part is on dispassion -
As long as thoughts crop up, so long has the turning inward of the mind not been acomplished. As long as the mind is not inward, so long the Self cannot be realised.. Turning inward means absence of desire. How can the mind be fixed within if desires are not given up? Therefore become dispasssionate and inhere as the Self. Such inherence is spontaneous ( no effort is needed to inhere as the Self). It is realised after thoughts are eliminated and investigation ceases. Recapitulate your state after you break off from it, and then will know all and the significance of its being knowable and unknowable at the same time... Thus realising the unknowable, one abides in immortality for ever and ever....

Now here is the other part which is the classifications of Jnannis: "Those are the best who are free from all of the vasanas, and particularly from the least trace of that of action. If free from the fault of mistrust of the teachings of the master, the vasana due to desire, which is not a very serious obstruction to realisation, is destroyed by the practice of contemplation. Dispassion need not be very marked in this case. Such people need not repeatedly engage in the study of Scriptures or the receiving of instructions from the Master, but straightaway pass into meditation and fall into samadhi, the consummation of the highest good. They live evermore as Jivanmuktas (emancipated even while alive)

.Sages with subtle and clear intllect have not considered it worth while to eradicate their desire etc., by forcing other thoughts to take thier place because desires do not obstruct realisation. Therefore their desires continue to manifest even after realisation as before it... Neither are they tainted by such vasanas. They are said to be emancipated and diverse-minded. They are also reported to be the best class of jnanis...

Rama, he whose mind clings to the ignorance of the necessity of work cannot hope for realization even if Siva offers to instruct him. Similiarly, also the person who has the fault of marked indifference to or missunderstanding of the teachings cannot attain. On the other hand, a man only slightly affected by these two vasanas, and much more so by desires or ambitions, will by repeated hearing of the holy truth, in discussion of the same, and contemplation on it will surely reach the goal though only with condiderable difficulty and after a long lapse of time. Such a sage's activities will be small because he is entirely engrossed in his efforts for realisation. Note.,.- His activities will be confined to the indispensable necessities of life.

A sage of this class has by his long practice and rigorous discipline controlled his mind so well that predispositions are totally eradicated. He belongs to the middle class in the scheme of classification of sages and is said to be a sage without mind.... the last class and the least among the sages are those whose practice and discipline are not perfect enough to destroy mental predispositions. Their minds are still active and the sages are said to be associated with their minds. they are barely jnanis and not jivanmuktas as are the other two clesses. They appear to share the pleasures and pains of life like any other man and will continue to do so till the end of their lives. They will be emancipated after death...

Prarabdha (past karma) is totally powerless with the middle class who have destroyed thier minds by continued practice...

In all these cases, a single mind assumes different shapes to suit the different functions at the same time. Similarily the mind of the best among jnanis is only the Self and yet manifests as all withiout suffering any change in its eternal blissful nature as the Self. They are therefore many-minded...

The prdrabdha of jnanis is still active and sprouts in the mind but only to be burnt up by the steady flame of jnana. Pleasure or pain is due to the dwelling of the mind on occurrences. But if these are scorched at their source, how can there be pleasure or pain?

Jnanis of the highest order, however are seen to be active because they voluntarily bring out the vasanas from the depth of the mind and allow them to run out... Their action is similar to that of a father sporting with his child, moving its dolls, laughing at the imagined success of one doll over another, and appearing to griveve over the injury to another, and so on, or like a man showing sympathy for his neighbour on the occasion of a gain or loss....

The vasanas not inimical to realisation are not weeded out by the best class of jnanis because they cannot seek new ones to crowd out the old... Therefore the old ones continue until they are exhausted and thus you find among them some highly irritable, some lustful and others pious and dutiful, and so on....

Now the lowest order of Jnanis still under the influence of their minds know that there is no truth in the objective universe.... Their samadhi is not different from that of the rest....

What is Samadhi? Samadhi is being aware of the Self and nothing else.... The wise say that samadhi is the control resulting from the application of the experienced Truth (ie. the awareness of Self) to the practical affairs of life... This samadhi is only possible for jnana yogis......

The Eight Verses on Transforming the Mind

guru_11Namaste
i welcome you with Great Love and Respect.
This teaching has come to my attention - I would like to address it - as many are coming across such teachings and then have a false view of what a spiritual person or teacher should be. How they should act and interact. What should be the mindset of one on the path ? Let's go through this text. Om

Geshe_langri_tangpa
This comes from the book wriiten by The Dalai Lama. "THE EIGHT VERSES ON TRANSFORMING THE MIND" by Geshe Langri Thangpa.

1. With a determination to achieve the highest aim
For the benifit of all sentient biengs
Which surpasses even the wish-fullfilling gem,
May I hold them dear at all times.

G: On the surface this sounds noble and grand. i am doing my path for the benefit of All sentient beings. May i hold them dear at all times. OK fine - but recognise that while one may give what they have to give, you cannot give more than what your level of wisdom is. Do the path to enter into Liberation - What is found is the Great Ground of Being which is ONE. Then there is the map to pull others out. It is a bit grandiose to say i am doing this for others - are you not a one in suffering? Are you above that which you seek ? This mindset of doing it for others can create and sustain an elitest mind. A false grandiose sense of compassion.

On this note will say why did this text come into being?  The buddha gave 8 ways to walk the path. i will place these along with this text and if one reads the Dhammapada - it will be found to be differing than the mindset that is being put forward in this transforming of the mind offering. i find the Dhammapada much more as Buddha stressed the *Middle* way - where is the middle way in this text being commented on ? it has left the middle way for left field.
(1) 1st stage 4 virtues: Maitri, Karuna, Mudita, Upeksha, Maitri :

G: Friendliness, good-will, benevolence, love, loving-kindness to all. Karuna is compassion, pity, sorrow for the sufferings of all, Mudita is joy in the good of all, Upksha is forgiveness, overlooking the faults of all. (note these are being given from the Dhammapada forward translated by Juan Mascaro for Penguin books) I recommend this one - it is a well balanced pointing for the path.

2. When ever I interact with someone,
May I view myself as the lowest among all,
And, from the very depths of my heart,
Respectfully hold others as superior.

G : There is nothing beneficial in developing this type of mindset. The path is to reach Realization wherein there is a natural humility of Knowing that All from the highest in society to the lowest have at the core that Ever Present ONE - Divine Essense. It is quite humbling within itself to see others as self. This again can create the opposite mindset than that to which they are aspiring and this is also far from the middle way - or 0 point Balance. in the enthusiasm to excel the middle way has been pushed aside for extremism. This presents and enforces another type of conditioning. One that others will see to be falsely garnered as humble. Humility has no need to be lessor than another - humility is in the graciousness of equality. Christ was a servant of all but he did not advocate a mind of groveling. In this look to Christ's example. Being on the path does not mean developing the mind or the actions of being a door mat in order to be percieved as being humble.

(2) The second stage is right determination. from the Upanishad - A man comes with his actions to the end of his determindation. Also the words of Jesus may be quoted, "No man having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the Kingdom of God.
G: in other words hold steady - walk the walk - do what is needful in an appropriate way, step by step to the goal of Realization or finding the Liberation which is the pre-birth right.

3. In all my deeds may I probe into my mind,
And as soon as mental and emotional afflictios arise
As they endanger myself and others-
May I stongly confront them and avert them.

G: This is fine - be willing to Stop and see what is coming up. Be willing to
go through and challenge it's core. While they are pointing towards not following through the negative ones - still it takes sitting with the rising emotional upheavels that result in less than stellar actions. Sit with it - be an observer of the emotional and mental processes and then use them as a platform to question deeply. What is mind - what holds these thoughtforms in place ? What gives reality to them? How do emotions emerge and what gives them substance, etc.

(3) Third stage is right words. - Buddha defines right words as words at the right time, true, profitable and kindly. The ideal of truth is Absolute. Only Truth can save a man.

4. When I see beings of unpleasant character
Oppressed by stong negativity and suffering,
May I hold them dear-for they are rare to find-
As I have discovered a jeweled tresure.

G: A jeweled treasure? No, one has discovered a rare hard to find Jeweled Treasure when one encounters a beacon of Truth. The negative - suffering - and unpleasant is everywhere. While one should not react nor be drawn in by others drama, see it for what it is - have compassion for their suffering. If they seek aide then give what may be given. But there is no need to mistakenly honor such a mentality. Buddha does not give the admonition to worship such a thing and hold it dear as a gem. Again they have left the middle way - and the mindset develops not a healthy view of the path but a skewed version that will lead to confusion.

(4) Forth stage of path is Right Action - Karma Yoga of the Bhagavad Gita: good and pure work as an offering of Love. Or as Christ said do good to them that hate you.
G: One may use every day and interaction as a moment of Seva or selfless action. This does not mean that one holds up the negative as a treasure.

5. When others out of jealousy,
Treat me wrongly with abuse, slander, and scorn,
May I take upon myself the defeat
and offer to others the victory.

G: you are defeated by this and offer others the victory ? whatever you say is right. i am worthless - if you say it it must be true and i am so humble so beat me please. There is nowhere that Buddha would ever hold this up. Yes in the bible it says to offer the other cheek.

Recognise that others lash out - out of ignorance and out of pain - attempting to keep the walls of safety they have constructed - the velvet walled jails which are not safe nor free. When others are negative - reactive - slanderous my reaction to this is a saddness. They are obviously in pain - suffering - and reacting to some real or imaginary event. To them it will seem quite real within thier mind and world and to another it doesn't even exist. Everyone has experienced when out of the blue comes a judgement - a reaction - anger - about something that was taken and blown out of proportion. Or that within anothers mind a huge drama and story has grown to monumental proportions out of nothing - some consruct whole soap operas with a cast of characters that bear little resemblance to what is here and now. This is the reactive mind in motion - the mind of dreaming and nightmares - maya - illusion - illusions of truth which have little if any validity on what is taking place now.

(5) 5th stage of the path is right livelyhood -
G: Earn your money by ethical means - Honesty & Integrity need to be kept in all actions of life.

6. When someone whom I have helped,
Or whom I have placed great hopes,
Mistreats me in extremely hurtful ways,
May I regard him still as my precious teacher.

G: Sometimes those whom we help - whom we give the best to - simply aren't at a point to hear and their minds are circling around in past negative dramas. OK - this takes place. But what are they teaching you ? If it is something that has you going in a circle then look at what is coming up in the mind and emotions? This can be a jumping off point into deeper enquiry. As a Guru this happens as a matter of course - people will be going along ok - until a beief system get's challenged - or they may come in and who knows what is going to push a button that they are not ready to look at earnestly. Then a whole story and drama get's created in their minds and what comes forward bears little resemblance to what one is trying to impart.

OK - so they blow out for a time - perhaps a seed has been planted and they will come back to make another effort at forward motion. This is fine - we can only give - but it is up to the saddhaka to look within and to challenge the negative mindsets and dramas as they arise. Not every person that one helps or one places great hopes in that blow up is going to be your precious teacher. See it for what it is - there is one lesson in it sometimes which is no matter how great the intentions people are where they are for a reason. Some may be willing to move forward and may be grateful and others may be users and abusers and no matter how much hope you have in them they are simply not ready to make a change in their life. In this sometimes the best course of action is to realise and recognise they have a right to their suffering and will continue in it until they choose the time to make progress to be free of it. You cannot save a world that doesn't want to be saved.

(6) 6th stage of the path is : Right Effort -
G: steady and relaxed - middle way.

7. In brief may I offer benefit and joy
To all my mothers both directly and indirectly,
May I quietly take upon myself
All hurts and pains of my mothers.

G: We cannot carry anothers pain - no matter how magnaimus that sounds it avails nothing. Each must do the work to release their pain we may aide them in this. What pain is there is an opportunity and a window to dig deep in self discovery. If you take this away then you are taking away an opportunity. We come to these pains due to the choices we have made - --- there is a difference in being an aide versus being an enabler. We do what we may to help alleviate and to stand with someone as they work through their hurts and pains. But again you Cannot take on someone elses pain and hurts as you have enough of your own burden to handle. This can again create a false sense of superior humilty. it is a dangerous tripping stone on the path.

(7) the 7th stage of the path : right rememberance or right mindfulness. It is an ever-remembering of the Path, a quiet watchfulness of Life. The spiritual path is a watching, an equiring and a returning.
G: witness - enquire - cut the knots.

8. May all this remain undefiled
By the stains of the eight mundane concerns;
And may I, recognizing all things as illusion,
Devoid of clinging, be released from bondage.

G: this comes as one progresses - in Realization the Truth is Known the the illusion of maya is at an end. Recognizing all things as illusion see that all within the mundane part of existance is transient - always in flux - always in change. Come to a center point - the middle way.

(8) 8th part of the path - Samadhi - communion - It is the final communion of the finite with the Infinite, the end of the journey mentioned in the Dhammapada: The traveler has reached the end of the journey.

The word Sam-a-dhi comes from the root Dha which means to hold in a place. With the prefix sam and a , Samadhi suggests a union, a communion: the union with Brahman or the Upanishads, the union with God of the Christian Mytics, the union with Nirvana of Buddha.

The four stages of Samadhi metionined in the buddhist scriptures remind us of the four stages of prayer of St Teresa. The first stage of Samadhi is pure thought, recollection and meditation, and this is followed by the stopping of thought, contemplation. In those two stages there is a deep consciousness of joy and peace. In the third stage of the Buddhist Samadhi, the prayer of quietness of St. Teresa, the consciousness of joy which was common to the first two stages disappears; but there is still a consciousness of peace, a remnant of the consciousness of the "I" in time. The burden of the ego at that stage is very light, but it is still with man; until the forth stage Nirvana is attained, the burden of the ego, the burden of life, has fallen forever, and man is free.

The last is a quote from Dhammapada 82:

"Even as a lake that is pure and peaceful and deep so becomes the soul of the
wiseman when he hears the words of the Dhamma."

G: There is nothing that needs be added to this. The above quite well states the
passages of the journey.

Maha Shanti OM
enjoy and be happy

By the stains of the eight mundane concerns;

Questions

guru121

Why do Gurus want to teach what they learn? Why do they show their importance?

This depends on the Guru... Some do it for ego gratification.. some need the students to be at their feet for ego importance... some do it out of desire to "save the world" ... some do it as a job... and some are just led by karma...

Some do not look to be a guru but when the students find them and ask then they accept... for those that are jnani that have reached liberation it is the natural outcome... For them there is only silence... there is no search... no answers looked for... when the students come and ask questions the answers just appear in consciuosness... they are not thought about.. nor contemplated... it just happens as a matter of course...

It is up to you to decide if they are showing their importance... if you believe that they are coming from ego then go the other way... A teacher in ego can not teach by example but only by words... yet also do not judge always by outer appearances... the personality goes on... but the inner awareness is what matters...

Seek out where the Guru is pointing to... are they pointing you to truth... or are they pointing you to give them adulation or money... Do they give you Truth freely or are there strings attached? The one that says "I Am God" versus All are of the Same Essense... which is showing importance? ALL are only Brahman beyond the ego forms illusions... look and judge wisely....

Is Realizing yourself all?

Yes! When you know your Self you know God... When you know God or Self there is absolute freedom... What else remains... In freedom you rest in Peace - and Bliss - and Wholeness - Complete - One with All.. Beyond the transients always resting within the Constant which is ever the same.... There is no more desire... there is no more search.. you are ever the calm... once again the Ocean of Bliss....

What is the best way to reach realization? How to proceed?

The best way is to simplify your life to begin with... do not keep desiring more and more... do not be attached to what you have ... if it is there fine - if it goes fine... this is being unattached... you need not give up everything just give up being attached and grasping to keep it... all is transient here in maya... what comes will in the end go... you cannot hold onto anything with form or ideations that sustain ego.... Next is to do contemplation of Self... look at what about you is transient in nature... what in the world is transient... and say neti neti... if it is transient it cannot be the Ever Abiding Source... or Self.... keep going until only Source remains... Start to do one thing at a time... keep your focus always in present time... if you think about the past stop yourself and come back to Now... if you start thinking about future once again come back to Now ... this is the way to begin......

Why is life so hard to live and to understand?

Because you are deluded into thinking you are the form and that outward desires will fullfill you... and you attempt to live the dreams of others and within the dogma of society and religion... ever within the perameters of illusions of truth... you hold all the condtionings and ideas that you have been told as truth... and you try to meet the ever increasing load of burdens thrust upon you by your own desires and by wanting the approval of family and society and God etc. etc. etc.... you are in a never ending maze of trying to fullfill yourself and others that comprise your ideation of your world.... You are ever seeking fulfillment... but you know not where to find it... you are lost within mayas delusions.... and the only way out is to find That Which Is the Truth of Self... That which can only truly fullfill you... and that is only found within alone.... no one else can give you peace and satisfaction... no one can hand you this... you must be willing to search it out yourself....
